Do you know what training is required per OSHA when employees are working on construction sites? If you don’t, you better keep reading.
When OSHA comes onto a construction site for a specific hazard, 9 times out of 10, they will ask for your training documentation. If you don’t have it? Fine (as in monetary)!!!
The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 doesn’t specifically address the responsibility of employers to provide health and safety information and instruction to employees, although Section 5(a)(2) does require that each employer “…shall comply with occupational safety and health standards promulgated under this Act.” However, there are more than 100 of the Act’s current standards that do require training. Some of these standards include:
- Employee emergency action plans
- Medical Services and first aid
- Hazard Communication
- Lead
- Personal Protection Equipment
- Respiratory Protection
- Tools – Hand and Power
- Electrical
- Scaffolding
Schedule your training today to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. A fine is way more expensive than the cost of training your employees and assuring their safety!
